Collage with acrylic paint & how to preserve paper. Mixed media project?
-
If I want to use paper to make a collage on a canvass, can I stick the paper to the wet paint on canvass? What kind of paper should I use if I want to paste a quote? I also have the actual paper I will be altering, how do I preserve it? Can I use a computer printout or newspaper? I want it to last and not fade. Also, how do I write small letters neatly? This project would be small, about the size of a dollar bill on a ready-to-hang canvass. Any suggestions appreciated regarding collage techniques. Can I spray or coat the final piece with something?

Answer:
Use a varnish spray. Humbrol do a few acrylic and enamel sprays. Hairspray works well, too. Matt spray; gets rid of most/all the shine. Satin spray; gets rid of most shine. Gloss spray; makes it glossy. I use these sprays on acrylic models.
