All art was once new (to paraphrase "composer's Datebook" on NPR). Why I like it. It has an energy that is immersed in the current milieu. I don't appreciate it all because I have viewer opinions like anyone else. It is always a treat to meet and interact with the creators in front of the work they have done. And I like having that experience as an artist at my shows. It's untried territory because the art work hasn't been sifted out yet, like the "old Matsters". I like it because I'm in it to some degree that is unknown. That's the fun part.

I think art is being atomized into many currents, styles, media etc, but culture really seems to do the opposite
