What is an 'Artist's board?

Is it just me or do other artists prefer painting on bristol paper rather than canvas board?

  • I don't know, I hate canvas board, you can draw on it. And you have to put so much paint so the white doesnt show. I like acrylic on bristol paper. I usually dont mess up as often.

  • Answer:

I usually just leave areas on a canvas intended to be white, alone. Paper likes to shread easily, and it leaves bits and pieces all over your work, and it also ruins the medium. Canvas doesn't do that for me, and so I personally prefer canvas, plus it's thick and I don't have to worry about it becoming damaged when being moved around.
