What is the difference between art and pop?

    Op is optical. Illusions and strange effects. Pop is the same as pop music. popular art. There are many works that may be classified as both but op art has to have that eye trick effect of some sort. Minimalisme is made as simple as possible. Not simple art but with as little elements as possible. White square on a white background is a famous example.

Minimalist architecture, Mies van der Roe. Color field painting-Mark Rothko. Check out Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" house. He was known for designing houses that worked WITH the landscape, not just ON it. This is a great example, built with a natural waterfall running though it.
