What are good quality oil paints?

Rather than lean toward any given brand or maker it is important to understand the basic diff between Artist grade and student grade oils. Because Pigment is where the cost is . Student grade has less pigment. Artist grade paint tends to be mostly the same quality world wide . I have used Old Holland (very expensive) and many others over time . Even Winsor & Newton which is sold at almost all stores. I like most thought years ago I had to buy tube after tube of this color or that. Ha. With the exception of a very few wild modern colors all the colors can be mixed from the following . But all artist quality!!!!(which we already covered . Burnt Umber = BU French Ultra Marine blue =FU (a primary) Alizarin Crimson (a primary) Cadmium Yellow (pale) (a primary) and a Titanium White Thats 3 primaries . The BU anf FU will make a black , The AZ serves as the red primary Good luck

Rembrandt oil paints are very good quality oils they are top of the line.There are many good ones out there but I personally prefer theses.
