I used oil pastels on my walls, can I paint over them?
-
A few months ago I took oil pastels to my wall. Now I'm about to repaint, and I've used a mixture to wash off the pastels, but I know that oil based products leave a residue, and I'm wondering if i'll be able to paint over the area, or if the paint won't stick to it, and if not, is there a way to get rid of the residue and paint? If it changes the situation at all i'm using black paint.

Answer:
use kilz over the pastel, its oil based sealer/primer, and when it dries you can use waterbased paint over the top.
