What is the cultural frame in art?

What are the three Frames mean when doing art (cultural, social, structural frame) and what do they mean?

  • I really need to know, coz i'm doing a painting during the hols, so i need to jot down any ideas, and in order to do that i need to know what the three different frames mean. help me please. (i'm doing the painting in order to apply for a scholership)lol.thanx heaps.

  • Answer:

Sorry it's a guess. Cultural: the society that the artist is from (ie Calvinist Dutch, Catholic Italy, post-Christian Western Society etc). Social: that would be the people who make up the society and their class structure and way of life, and where the money is coming from to pay the artist. Structural: I'm not sure, unless it means the actual design and making of the art. Hope it helps a bit.
