Has Anyone Attended Raindance Canada?

Wanna attend student art painting show to expand horizon and then open solo art exhibition.?

  • Hi, I'm a 16 creative girl, I live in Vancouver, Canada. I'm very interested in abstract painting. Although I've never attended any art classes, I started painting since I was a little and I've painted a lot of abstract paintings that are worth enjoying. Actually, I want to open my own solo exhibition, but I have not got a chance to make my dream come true Because most galleries are not interested in student's artwork, I decide to get involved in student painting show.to get started. Now, the problem is I have not found out any student art painting shows or painting contests that are suitable. Most art shows and painting contests are in New York, US.( I'm in Vancouver, Canada). Can anyone show me any student art shows or painting competitions in Canada ? Can you guys give me some advice and instructions for a young artist to get started? Please visit my blog if you have time: [email protected] Thanks so much

You might be able to check out Canvas Night, basically the restaurant provides a canvas anyone can communally paint on it. I included the site in the sources. Much like you I'm an art student, I live in Grand Rapids and go to Kendall College of Art and Design. Definitely, start taking art classes or lessons when you can. You should focus on in all kinds of art, especially in drawing, painting, and photography. These will help you immensely, as many art schools place high value in drawing skill, learning more about painting will definitely improve your abilities, and learning to take good photos of your work will assist you in building a strong portfolio. Also, photography and drawing will strengthen your ability to form effective compositions. You may not like deviating away from your focus, but artists should be capable of doing most things fairly well, also it can only help you. If your school has an art teacher you should probably talk to them, when I was in high school my teacher was very helpful. Also, if your school has an art club, join it or visit it a few times. Get to know the other artists in your school, they can help you find resources and provide tips and friendship. They could also be collaborators with you on a school or independent student exhibition. The important thing is to open your social network as much as possible, the more people with your interests, who can help you in art the better. Also, take advantage of portfolio day events and start building a portfolio. Finally, be open to learning as much as possible, but still control and put your style on it. And never give up, if you want to be a well-known abstract painter, then you can do it. Hope this was of help. :)
