Can anyone suggest how I can improve myself?

Can anyone suggest me some tips to improve my painting skills?

  • I'm not an artist. Painting is just a hobby of mine. I love to paint. I have never gone to any drawing or art classes to learn painting but i can make fine paintings & even my parents & relatives think that i have talent. I don't want to make painting as my career but i would definitely like to improve my colouring skills. I want to learn how to make a perfect blend of colours on my canvas. I want to learn to make fine details in my paintings. I can make scenarios quite well but when i get into the details i don't get a clear cut image of the object i have painted. I want to learn to paint the fine details of a painting & i also want to get some important & useful tips which would help me improve the quality & level of my paintings.

Put some music on, close your eye's and empty your mind of thoughts, all that you create is perfect and unique so all of it is beautiful. If you worry about peoples opinions you will be their prisoner. I am sure that you enjoy the process, if you can paint without self seeking in it you will leave it as it is, perfect. Or you could just go to evening classes :)

hi if you want to learn to make fine details in your painting and clearcut image , first you have to have skill of observation, and painting should be completed in 3 quoting or attempts 1 after drawing and sketching first quoting should be applied 2 after drying the first quoting paint details of your concepts 3 after drying 2nd quoting finish the painting i.e put light and shades in depth. painting is nothing but mixer of light and shades

It's great that your parents and relatives have talent but talent is over rated. Practice and hard work is the only path to improved painting skills. Go to wetcanvas.com for great information on becoming a better painter.

Hi.... to improve your painting skills you have to do more practice, good sense of colors and check out this link for all types of painting tips- http://painting.about.com/od/paintingtips/Painting_Tips.htm

Well, without seeing your work, I can't give you much in the way of critiques, but I still have a few things to say. First off, if you enjoy painting, you're an artist. Whether or not you ever make a dime off of your work, you're an artist. You have a talent and you should give yourself the credit. Many people cannot do what you can. As for learning tips, in my area they offer community classes in the evenings for pretty cheap. That was how I learned how to paint. First, I learned the teacher's style and I have slowly adapted it more to my own style. Check out books, either from the library or purchase them from art stores. Look up online tutorials. Many, many artists will post methods and even step-by-step processes on creating their paintings. You can learn great techniques this way. And lastly, I recommend joining an online art community. Link up with other artists who enjoy creating the type of art you do. They will provide wonderful feedback and excellent critiques and help you grow as a person an as an artist. As for sites from professional artists, not too sure. Do Google searches on some of your favorites. DeviantART is a popular online art community and is one of many. There are quite a few tutorials on there as well.

hello anki i think u can look on wikipedia for some tip or allso send me a mail on [email protected] in more detail

It all depends on how much time you are willing to devote to your piece. I've spent 10-15hours on certain pieces JUST working on details alone (Of course, that was with dry media.) Assort your brushes, don't be afraid to be bold and experiment.. you can have as many pointers and learn as many techniques as you want, but it's up to you to teach yourself your style. Just keep at it and try not to lose patience. I agree with the other 2 posts :P DeviantArt is great... if you can post your work, you can most likely get pointers and comments from great artists. Also, if you watch youtube videos you see how other artists do things.. always interesting to see new techniques.
