Making a Romeo and Juliet mask?

Making a Romeo and Juliet mask?

  • Im making a mask that represents Romeo and Juliet, it's for English, and I was wonder what is something I can paint on the mask that represents them or anything in the play?

  • Answer:

If it has to represent both of them, I would use the sun (because "Juliet is the sun") and stars (because Romeo mentions stars and fate more often than anyone else in the play, and because "stars" in the astrological sense determine fate). A rose could also be a Romeo symbol ("A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.") Remember when Romeo says "I am fortune's fool!"? Check out the Fool card from the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. It might as well be Romeo. You've got a young man (could be Romeo) carrying a rose (R & J symbol)in one hand, his belongings over his back (exile), with a dog (loyalty)at his feet, and he's about to step right off the edge of a cliff.
