What are some good Art Sites?

What are some good sites to teach teens about art and graphics?

  • There's a program in my library called Teen Art Studio, it's been running for a couple years and classes cover things like drawing, painting, calligraphy, collage...all hands on art materials. I'd like them to try making some art and design using the computer. Not sure what to try...animation, drawing, altering photos? Where would you start? I'd like to make a handout of recommended websites to explore. I have six laptops, and can hook one up to a projector so everyone can see. There's usually around 20 kids in the class, so they'll have to take turns at the computer. If you have any good software recommendations, it would be helpful as well. The library would probably be interested in purchasing well designed software for patron use. If you could tell me why you like the site or the software, or any special features it would be helpful. Thanks.

Well you might be able to find some tips on this site: http://www.technologystudent.com/ i use it alot at school for information and then i use paint shop pro or adobe photo shop. Great for graphics and art i use it all the time! i hope this helps you in some way

http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=415 has a ton of movies for all kinds of products, it depends on what your looking for. it has 3d, photoshop, illustrating, basically everything. long videos and tons of them. just choose the topics at the top from the drop down also, deviantart.com is a fun website to browse other peoples art. might wanna check that out as well
