AP Art: HELP WHAT DO DRAW?
-
Ok so she gave us a list of things we could draw, but we don't have to draw what's on the list ONLY....but I just can't imagine what I would want to do otherwise. The list is sort of non inspiring....... Here is the list she gave us: Favorite shoes hands in a variety of poses draw a tree draw a plant or shrub draw a car or truck draw a kitchen item draw your cellphone draw a pen in pieces draw you socks draw a person walking..........so if you didn't like any of these what would YOU do? Or if you do like something on the list explain what you would do.

Answer:
I'd put in everything! Draw a person walking on the sidewalk. There's a tree and shrubs off to the side of the road. A hummer truck parked in the background. The person is wearing your socks and favorite shoes. There's a spatula in his back pocket(lol idk). He's talking on his bluetooth with his phone. This person happens to talk ecstatically with his hands. And then color in a psychedelic fashion.

Okay. My friend took AP Art last year and she kept me updated on everything they did. First of all, from your list, I would choose the hands in a variety of different poses, you could have them interact or spell something, or be creative in some other way. you could also draw awesome jewelry on them- hands tell stories! If you draw a person walking, you can focus on their face. Faces alone also tell stories. Make them have an expression that represents why they are walking and how they are reacting to their surrounding. Ex. they could be walking with someone else and be in love, or they could be lonely and sad. For a tree, draw leaves falling off of it or flowers budding/blooming. There are sooo many things you can do with this. My friend, who took that class, drew a self-portrait that focused on her eyes. Everything on her face was black-and-white but her eyes, she colored those in blue/green. It was very cool. She also did a lot of seasonal drawings with different kinds of trees to represent it. As for me, I'd draw a portrait of my dog or cat. I love animals and in AP art you are encouraged to take your own pictures and draw from those. It is not recommended to take pictures from online or in a magazine. Hope this helps.
