How do you color line art using Gimp?

I have a line art and GIMP won't color the transparent part, only the line itself!!!?

  • Can someone tell me what setting I need to change? There's so effing many things in there and it's frustrating me to no end because I spent ALL DAY on this thing and I just want to color it. I have a pretty, clean line art with transparency and whenever I try to fill or paint, it only affects the line itself and none of the transparent part I'm TRYING to freakin paint!

  • Answer:

Add a layer below the line layer (fr more info on layers check out http://gimpedblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-use-gimp-for-beginners-lesson-3.html ) Fill the layer with your desired colors I do gimp tutorials and would be happy to help you out more. Where it says "mode" on the left, check and make sure your brush is set to "normal" and not something else.
