How does the scream (painting) portray alienation, confusion, identity etc?

Need help thinking of an idea for my art major on 'identity' theme...?

• I am thinking of doing an 'artist's book' which is a collection of various works etc in like a folder or something. However, since the theme is identity and I read a lot of books im thinking of making mine in the shape of a novel... like maybe have the front of it like an old book cover and the back where the blurb usually is could be my artist statement... although i don't know what I could put inside... like i don't want like random drawings of things I like, I want there to be some connection between them all or something that relates them (besides me in general) any suggestions would be great (obviously answers will be general as you don't know what I like/dislike or my hobbies etc....) Also any other suggestions that you think of that relate to the theme of identity and aren't related to the above idea are also appreciated. Keep in mind though that my strengths are drawing and painting and I will most likely use oil paint..

  Are you trying to identify and reconcile with a book as an artist expressing through this medium.... Are you a page turner, a sprawling epic, a romance, a contemporary urban presence, a pick up and flick through coffee table talking point, a rare and dusty old tome on a long forgotten bookshelf.... Your identity is inside and out - you do not necessarily want to judged by the cover, unless it is a deliberate ploy so the content has greater impact and then another inspection reveals another meaning... The world really is your oyster here :)
