What is a better career choice? Being A Cartoonist or Being an Animator?

  • Hi, I was wondering what would you consider to be a better career choice in the long run? Being a cartoonist, or being an animator? I have an ability to draw quite well, but I am stumped on what would better suit my talents. And generally speaking, which pays more?

    Being a cartoonist , its a completely your own creation with the help of the art that you know. And the 100% credit is given to you. But animation is partly to be credited to computers, so depend what you like. If you like the quick money but a time being fame, go for animation. But if you want less money but a life long Fame, go for cartoonist.

Cartoons are out these days. All the kids movies are now animated: Shrek, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Meet The Robinsons. I say, for the long run, go into animating. It's the future for those types of movies.

How about you work your way from being a cartoonist to an animator. If you create a character and start a comic I am sure you will be able to animate in no time.
