What is the best way to learn drawing anime?

How do I get better at drawing anime?

  • I LOVE to draw. Some of my drawings are really, really good and I'm proud of them, and most other times it looks like ****. Is there any way I can get better at drawing anime? I don't really want any websites to buy or borrow books...are there any websites I can learn from? Thanks very much!

    Practice. All the time. Draw until your eyes bleed. Here's a good free site with some useful tutorials and general information for drawing anime-style characters (and other stuff). http://polykarbon.com/ I also strongly suggest you check out the "How to Draw Anime and Game Characters" book series by Tadashi Ozawa. Those books have the best basic information on drawing techniques, written by an actual Japanese animator who has been in the business since the old Akira days. I know you don't want to buy any books, but if you're really interested in learning, it might be something you'll want to ask for as a birthday gift or something. They're really good.

you don't have to buy anything just try using lines and markings for the areas of what and where the parts are like this... http://essentialscafe.com/forums/storage/102/12380/sketch-stages.jpg or http://www.tahoeanime.com/TahoeAnime.mac/Sketch_tutorial_files/sketch2.jpg or you could take a photo and copy while making it larger it gives you a better idea of where everything is on the face and body. hope it helped! KEEP PRACTICING that is one of the most important ones.!

1st thing u need 2 learn is that wen u draw "anime" its manga. Anime is manga videos/on tv etc. wen im having problems drawing sometin, i sometimes look at other peoples drawings and at manga novles to see how to draw sometin a certain way. other than that, i kno uve prolly heard this a million times, but u keep drawin and u will get bettter. ill try 2 find some websites.

have you ever tried graphic mania .com or try peking in to all websites on how to draw anime as you peak in to these websites each one will help you put together ideas on how to draw anime without purchasing anything that is how i learned how to fix computers

practice a lot id suggest going on fanart.com to look at some other people's artwork try to draw theirs. but be sure to give them credit after a while, you'll be able to draw your own anime characters
