Best Art Supplies for a Comics?

I'm looking for new supplies to draw with. I mostly draw comics, but I like to do a bit of fan art and other small drawings. I usually just used a regular pen or pencil, but they are hard to see once scanned and the lining effects aren't that great. Is there any specific brand of pens/pencils/colored pencils that you would recommend?
