What makes a good Art Portfolio for college?

• I Want to major in fashion design and jewelry design and ive been drawing for years. what are some really impressive concepts, done well, to have in your portfolio? any tips? whats a good amount to have? i'm just confused by it in general even though it seems simple.

  i can give you an estimate, because i applied for an art college quite a few times, you still need to call adminatration and find out there rules. generally ten to twelve drawings, try not to be boring by doing more than that in the portfolio. If you paint in oils, watercolor, do mixed media, bring in one of each as a basic to show your over all experience, if only one best work, then the medium this is what you use to produce the work, say you do watercolors bring in eight to ten of them. dont bring everything. dont bring too much. show them who you are through your portfolio and how dedicated you. a portfolio doesnt tell anyone who they "want to be" or what they want to be.
