How to become a graphic designer?

How do I become a graphic designer?

  • I wanna be a graphic designer. Someone who creates adverts for products. Or a set/backdrop designer. Someone who designs and creates backdrops/sets for movies and theatre productions. But how do I get into the industry? And how do I land myself a job in this criteria?

  • Answer:

Find the right qualification like a universtity degree in graphic design or set production. Then learn all the right skills through researching design history and art movements. build up your drawing and visual skills on paper and computer. Also research and learn about typography. Now after getting a degree you should build up a portfolio of personal and other work showing a broad range of skills that will benifit you and an employer. When you have a portfolio send it too design agencys and studios that you would lie to work for... Try and find an intern job which is unpaid on a temp positon to show you are willing.to work whilst for free. Do this and gain experience... Now you can apply for a junior position and not get turned down bevause of lack of experience.... This should do... But warning... Learn as.much as you can and live and breath design.
