How can I improve on my artwork?

  • ok...so I draw and all that, sometimes realism but mostly anime and stuff.But I want to really be a Graphic Desighner and Artist when I grow up( aren't those the same thing? oh well) And I really need to start improving, I'm drawing and drawing but I just can't get things any better. I know it takes time but i need some advice, please help?

    You may want to study perspective, volumetric drawing techniques and human figure drawing/anatomy. Doing a lot of quick disposable sketches to get a grip on a technique may result in faster improvement than concentrating on a single piece for a long time. Color theory would be good for graphic design. You can watch videos of people drawing on youtube. "Speed drawing" (time-compressed videos of people drawing) is interesting. Most of it u can't really improve if ur talking pure skill...u can however improve on craftsmanship and perspective..so try to draw some abstract art cuz it really gets u thinking And yes art classes do really help, practice X3

(You might not like my answer but its honestly what you need to do.) Well don't know how experienced you are but drawing still lifes is the basics for everything, once you feel confident about still lifes try moving onto drawing people from pictures. Remember to draw what you see not what you think you see (therefore don't stop looking at what your drawing for a long time or you'll end up with something completely different). Drawings is the basis for everything so even if you want to go into graphic design you definitely need to know how to draw.

Draw Everyday, make it a habit, carry an art pad, pen, & pencils,-(believe it or not, I carry a fanny pack, a pad of paper, pen, art pencils, & all the art supplies-I can make cash doing art, drawing characters on the side while going out to coffee on my free-time.)
