Unique craft ideas for boyfriend - origami?

What to do with mini 3d origami hearts?

  • I made a bunch of tiny 3D origami hearts to put into a box like confetti and stuff like that to hide a necklace my boyfriend has been wanting for our anniversary. However, it turns out the necklace will be days late but i worked really hard on these hearts. Any ideas how else i could creatively use them for a gift?

  • Answer:

Plenty of stuff you could try out : -- string them into buntings, streamers, garlands for any occasion [or next year's V's Day] or intimate candlelight dinner :-) -- string them into a mobile that you can hang on your window. -- string them or glue them to make a 'chandelier' or lamp shade -- make book marks & gift to your family & friends who enjoy reading -- glue them together to make one large heart [you can cut the large heart-shape with construction paper or any carton sheet. -- if possible [depending on the size of each heart], insert a tiny piece of typed/handwritten paper in each heart & place inside a beautiful jar to make a wish-jar or a "coupon" jar. On each slip of folded paper, you can write a wish for him, something you will do for him, a quotation, a joke, a riddle, ...... & he can take one out each day/week, randomly, & you get to read/do whatever is written on it. You can also have fun together if you make them like fortune cookies - telling/forecasting something ;-) -- if you fold the heart along the middle & keep the curved edge on the lower side, it'll look like a cute little bird ! You can add a tiny paper beak, draw eyes & some feathers [or glue stuff] & voila! you have so many little birdies ! You can use these as tree decorations, on a mobile, glued/hung on your window pane, or just as decorations around the house. -- glue the hearts [& birds] on any little ornament/trinket box to decorate/adorn it. You can always give the gift when it comes, I'm sure he'd understand :) But if you don't want to do that, consider decorating a glass bottle and playing them in there. A cute idea that I've seen online is a bottle stoppered with a cork. In that case you can pin or glue things onto the cork, or you can tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle if the neck is long enough. I'm not sure what your hearts looks like, but if they're all different colors you can try coordinating the colors a bit (rainbow, layers, etc). I have a glass bottle that's tinted green on one side and I'm planning on filling it with origami stars that are different shades of green :) Hope this helps! ^^
