What Masters program is right?

What is a good masters program to do in graphic design and where?

  • I am a graphic design student doing my bachelors in graphic design right now. I am looking for a masters program to do after i graduate. It has to be something that will be of interest and good income. I am very much into corporate designs like logos, websites, letterheads, packaging and all the stuff that comes with them. Is masters where someone specializes in something more specific in a field or is that phd? because if it is that is the thing i have no idea about graphic design specific fields that well. Thanx!

  • Answer:

If you're about to get a BA from your school, and you don't even know what an MFA is all about, then my answer would be; Anywhere but the school you're at now. I've been a graphic designer and illustrator for years after attending a private art academy. I had my fill. I went the independent route and I LOVE it. But that's not for everyone. If you're really just in it for the credentials- I'm not judging but it sounds like you might be- then shoot for a prestigious school; Parsons or Yale or NYU. Or maybe the west coast badasses at Arts Center and Otis. ... and then there's England, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Italy and Japan.... Go big or go home. Good luck
