What does it take to become a global artist?

What kind of art degree or coarses should i take to help me, if i want to become a tattoo artist?

  Umm...first off tattooing is not a fad. It is a centuries old art that will continue for as long as man in alive. It may gain and loose some popularity over time, but it will always be a thriving business for those who are truly talented at what they do. As for classes to take, definately take any and all drawing classes you can. Many tattoo artists create books of their own designs, or even freehand them on the spot. Also, illustration and graphic design classes will help with basic composition issues. Often, tattoos are simply illustrations or logos that are on someone's body instead of paper or canvas. It couldn't hurt to specialize yourself, or develop an expertise. Sure, you want to be able to do whatever the customer wants, but often tattoo artists have one type or category of tattoos that they are best at. For example, fantasy, pin-up girls, or animals. All are quite popular in tattoos, and you could really find a niche market to serve if you also create your own "catolouge" of original designs. Who knows, if you're good enough people might go out of their way to have you do their tattoos because you're the best at a certain type! Good Luck!
