What are the Pros and Cons of being an Animator?

  • This is a career I'd like to pursue once I graduate from high school (I'm a freshman) and also, I have a Powerpoint due about a career for Advisory class. I've been searching around Google a lot and I still can't find anything useful. I need pros and cons of being an animator for 2D or 3D or anime (Like Naruto, Sailor Moon and Bleach, etc.) Can someone help me?

    Pros: 1. If you're good at art, it's an extremely creative way to use your talents. 2. Animated TV shows and movies remain extremely popular with the public, which could lead to steady work. Cons: 1. If you don't create your own show, you could wind up animating crummy storylines for a show that is no longer being creative and you'd get bored with it. 2. You could end up working for a studio that's not doing well. If their last show that's on the air gets canceled, you'd be jobless.
