Where to learn web design?

  • Don't get me wrong I know how to design and develop a web site. But I am more of a programmer than a designer. I'm not that artistic. Just wondering if anyone has any good resources for web design or any design for that matter? Thanks all

  • Answer:

Well, actually, our company, a local website design company located in orange county ( pixelutely.com ) , is run by a computer programmer with a strong web development background -- best of both worlds. However, no powerful graphics team is needed for a majority of web-sites, as graphics are too noisy and sometimes become annoying. Graphics are good (don't get me wrong), they simply have their place-- usually with image focused companies, such as a boutique on Rodeo Drive or a fancy jewelry store in South Coast Plaza. Your average company that makes widgets or sells regular goods wants a simple website, so as NOT to make their audience think they are overpriced! If you are NOT artistic, you can still build websites; just experiment with Adobe and then go back to college if you still don't get it. Just know HOW to build the site properly.
