Is Pen Ink Toxic?

How do you get the ink in your pen to go back down?

  • Am I the only one this happens to? You reach into your bag to use a pen, and as your writing your notes, or whatever it is your writing, the flow of ink starts to die down until your just scratching your paper. You unscrew the pen to see if if you ran out of ink, and lo and behold, your pen is filled up just fine... except the space, right before you get to the pen tip, is filled with air. And right before that air space is another tiny sliver of ink, and then another air pocket. And then before 'that' air pocket is the pull stem of ink. It almost looks as if the ink has shifted towards the opposite end. And I'm not talking about the flowy 'leaky' pens where the ink just spews out like a faucet; I'm talking about regular 'Paper Mate' pens that you can get at any STAPLES store. Is there any way to get the ink to go back down? I tried blowing on the open end, but that's about all I could think of. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?!

Hi Just take the refill out and shake it abruptly like a thermometerafter you did a reading. Hold it from the end and snap your wrist a few times. It should work

There is no fix. I tried heating the tip. Then heating the ink. The only thing that works is switching to "gel" pens. They use up ink at triple the rate, but they always work (if you buy the expensive ones-not the cheapos)..

unscrew the pen and the thing that has the ink in it, blow into it a few times. WORKS EVERY TIME!! have a nice day :)
