How to get something copyrighted?

  • I'm making a cartoon thru Adobe flash. Ho do I get it copyrighed. I don't want anybody to steal my ideas.

    If you are in the USA, you need to fill out a form and also include an example (make sure you ship it flat in an envelope, don't fold anything it because it will bleed with their heating mail system). Since it is a cartoon (you didn't specify animated or not), you will probably need the VA form for visual or TX for literary. You need to contact the copyright office to be sure. They have explanations for all the fields in the forms and it's pretty self explanatory. It costs $45 to register. If it's an animation, you probably need to send a disc with the example, but like I said...call the copyright office. They are really helpful (I've talked to them myself).

It's somewhere on microsoft but if you like really to be safe, just don't show it to just anybody or just say it's copyrighted
