I need a pen pal to learn Spanish.

Learn to Draw (With a WaCom-like tablet)?

  • I bought a WaCom like tablet a while ago for attempting to draw in Photoshop and Illustrator and well, I don't use it often and when I did use it it was really hard to work with and I never could get a good straight or curved line. So I wanna learn how to draw on a WaCom. Also, well, I need to learn HOW to draw. I do seriously wanna learn how to draw, but currently I have absolutely no artistic bone in my body. So what I need is some nice step by step instructions on making the most simple of things from how to draw simple lines all the way to more advance things. I can barely draw f*cking stick figures right now (on pen and paper - I can do much better in something like Photoshop.) So this is also really two questions: 1. Where can I learn to draw with a WaCom tablet? 2. Where can I learn to draw in general? I would love if I could get some answers. Thanks.

  • Answer:

I have a wacom tablet learn over time how to use hand eye coodination, instead of looking at the tablet , look at the screen while drawing. and with the second question, everybody has an artistic bone in their body somewhere, you just have to find it.

with a wacom tablet practice is really the only way to get better. most programs you can hold the shift key while drawing to create a strait line. and some programs like toonboom, storyboard pro, and flash all have "smoothness" bars that will clean your lines up for you to varrying degrees. Part of drawing with a tablet is knowing your program. If you know the hot keys, it makes it alot faster, you can undo things with your left hand and draw with your right. switch tools without having to go to the tool selection tray ect.. Unfortunately even the most expensive gold plated tablet with diamond pen wont replace good drawing skills. If you can't draw in general, a tablet wont really help much. In the mean time there are lots of artists on www.conceptart.org that have step by step process of how they did their work. Maybe that will help.
