What is the Aztec symbol for family?

What is a symbol for family, beauty, and strength?

  • My cousin and I are looking to get similar tattoos that have a meaning of both family and beauty. We don't have any idea what we want exactly, other than the fact we dont want a flower, or a bug, or any other common tattoo. We want the tattoo to symbolize our closeness as family. I've looked ALL over the net to see if I could find anything that caught my attention, and I havent been lucky so far. Any suggestions (even the smallest suggestion helps!!)

Here's my best idea. If you are cousins you have a family name in common somewhere. Use the crest for that name or make up one using symbols on crests. There are dozens of websites for finding meaningful crests or understadning what yours means. Let's say your grandfather's name is the one you have in common. Use his family crest or what his name "means."\ My family crest has roses on it, and horses. It is from Royalty way in the past. Even animals mean certain things, like peacock is beauty or eagle for strength. Lion for courage or bunnies for peace. Good luck.

I would suggest your coat of arms, or take something from a life experience you have all shared. I also think a neat idea is hunting down your "family motto" which goes by your last name. It will be whatever language your family originates from. Mine is in latin and it is beautiful. If you had your family motto (which can usually be found on a geneology site , or google it) you could tie it in with an image you all relate to strength.

Twin sword blades is probably the only one i can think of. if you are gonna go my route, put words on the blades like strength, or protection. Or the names of each other

How about the Lion from some of the Spanish Crests.

How about a lion? Like the kind on some of those British coat of arms.
