How does a Wacom Intuos3 Tablet perform on a widescreen monitor?

Wacom Intuos 3?

  • I am going to order an Intuos3 [6 X 8] and also planning to upgrade my 15" inch CRT monitor to 17" or 19" TFT LCD one. Will the Intuos and Monitor combination will be perfect? Or should I go for a 9 X 12 Intuos3 ? Will the choice of 9 X 12 will be a better option or will it be an overkill? How can I check which tablet size is suitable for my drawing style? Lots of questions ... :)). But please answer them as I am totally at loss. Thanks

  • Answer:

The greater quality yo wish from a drawing the greater size of the tablet you will need. If you are going for small blocky elements to be changed within Photoshop or Illustrator Later, You could get away with the Small tablet. If you are looking to do actual sketches in Photoshop, or have a 3-D project your gonna draw within that required greater detail, the Larger pad will do. I just draw what I need on paper, then scan it in, and manipulate it then, I don't like the feel of the Wacom tablets, and sometimes they are not "Linear " with a line you draw and how it appears on screen. The size of the tablet and the screen size aren't really relevant, because you can Zoom in and get the size of the screen or down to an inch if needed. Of coarse, Bigger is always nicer, more room to draw and such. Hope this helps.
