Where can I get parkour lessons?

Can I Get Private Drawing Lessons?

  • I take lessons in piano, flute and voice, and I've taken lessons with violin and guitar. I got a tutor for French for school, and I learned the language so much easier with someone talking to me one-on-one. About art, I was never very good at it. Now, I can't even make my stick people look presentable; I'm not very patient with it when I'm so used to being good at music and writing. Also, I'm a perfectionist, so I guess the crushing failure of my drawings lead to giving up. Anyways, I want to learn to draw. Is it possible to get private drawing lessons like my music lessons? I've looked it up and I see a few private art teachers, but I don't know if it's very normal. Also, I'm not sure if my parents would support paying for lessons, because I'm already in music, and I'm afraid they might think it's unimportant and frivolous. I guess I'm asking for some advice or encouragement.

  • Answer:

You actually don't need teachers. There's a bunch of Youtube art tutorials online, and honestly they help a lot. First, I started searching how to draw an eye. I looked at a couple videos, got the technique and drew it on my own. I kept on drawing it until I thought it was good. Then I moved onto the lips, then the nose, hair, eyebrows, etc... BUT... in your additional details, you said "I don't enjoy drawing now very much," Why do something you don't enjoy? I used to learn piano a long time ago, but after a while I didn't enjoy it. So I stopped because I didn't want to drag myself into something I didn't like. So make your choice. Do you want to drag yourself into something you don't like, and something that will create a lot of stress for you, or do you just want to find something else you DO like and learn that?

Yes, you can have private drawing tutors. But what makes you want to focus on drawing? It should be because you enjoy drawing, not because you want to master another skill. I'm guessing you enjoy flute, piano, and vocal, along with violin and guitar. But if you're going to continue with a drawing tutor, you must think about why you are taking it. Because you feel like you have to, or because you want to?
