Interesting small objects to draw?
-
for my a level art exam, im doing about size scales and im doing small objects being sized up out of proportion so the look gigantic. Iv gone through loads of things, from animals to food, but have come to the conclusion that i need to do household things, an example could be a giant coke can or giant screw. Thanks for any ideas!

The inside workings of a watch Shoelaces Workings of a stapler Workings of a tin opener A zip A pencil sharpener I know you said you've done food, but have you tried drawing segments of an orange or lemon? Maybe a star-fruit, if you can get one? I've drawn the insides of peppers (red and green are best, more contrast with the seeds and pithy type stuff inside). To add some interest, you could try using different media, maybe college, or reversing the colours so it looks kind of like a negative version of itself? You could even make a 3-D representation of the chosen item (papier mache/clay or something), try to fit it in, or alongside something that should be massive, but instead is tiny? Like if you did your screw idea, you could make a bridge or other architectural feature, with the huge screw assembled within it? I suppose this could work in a 2-D representation as well (if your exam piece deffo has to be a drawing/painting..... Anyway, good luck with it hope you get good marks.
