How to shade in paint tool SAI?

How do I make Photoshop CS5 emulate the Paint Tool Sai brushes?

  • The way colors blend with the Paint Tool Sai water brushes and blur brush are amazingly beautiful and simple. Photoshop has the Mixer Brush but that is extremely streeky and not solid like the Paint Tool Sai brushes. Is there anyway I can change the settings for photoshop to make it blend the way paint tool sai does? I like both Paint Tool Sai's way and Photoshops way, but I'd like to use just one program, and since Photoshop is so massive I assume there is a way to do it? Any help would be apperciated, but please don't answer if you don't know what I'm talking about...it gets my hopes up for nothing. v.v Thank you. ^_^

Here's a secret Forget Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai. Get MyPaint - it's free http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ - it has wonderful watercolour brushes, and you can add water to brush strokes to blend them, plus tons of other ways to blend images. And it works with graphics tablets too. EDIT > Don't know why you are discounting MyPaint - it does everything you need, plus it's simpler to use than Photoshop and doesn't get in the way when you are drawing, and it doesn't take up much room on your computer either and it's free - what do you have to lose? I have tons of image editing programs, inlcuding GIMP, Photoshop, MyPaint, Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, and wouldn't be without any of them. They all have special areas where they excel. Photoshop itself isn't really designed as a drawing application in any case.
