How do you draw flames?

Kind of the same way as waves. Just a little pointed. Start at the bottom and draw a slightly curved line up and curve the line the other way on the way back down. Hope it helps.

The best way is practice, practice, practice. It does not come naturally you must train yourself to do it, do not rest or drag your wrist/arm on your medium you are drawing on...this helps the fluidity....did I mention lots of practice? wanderer

I don't do black and white flames. I prefer red, orange and yellow blended colors. Buy a hot rod magazine with some pictures of a flame paint job and try to copy it. It takes a lot of practice before you can do it on a car.

As an art teacher, I'll give you the same answer I give my students. Find an example and copy it. When you get that down, see what you can change about it to make it your own style. That, and practice the smoothness of your curved lines.

if you can draw it is easy...take the image from your head and transfer it onto what ever media you are using
