What is something easy to draw?

  Hi Lindsay, You should have some idea of where your art capabilities art at since you signed up for this course. What would you draw if the teacher gave you this assignment to complete during the class? You need to start observing things and looking at them through an artist's eyes. Look for the lines, what would be the focal point of what you are looking at, what the colors are and the intensity of them. So, now sit down with a piece of paper and a pencil and draw something that you have seen, experienced, felt and so on. You need to draw from your perspective, not from someone's who you don't know. How you both would look at and describe the same scene would be very different because you would both base your description on what you are familiar with. All this being said, your teacher wants you to come into class with a drawing so that he or she can get an idea of your level of skills in drawing as well as that of the others in your class so that a lesson plan can be formatted to address everyone's needs. So, pull an idea out of your imagination, whether it's a favourite stuffed animal, the pattern on your mom's good china, the old boots grandpa wears when he's out in the garden, just draw from the heart and you will come up with a great drawing. Have fun in this class and soak up all the information that you can. This will help you to look for art in everything you see and give you a new perspective to think about when you see everyday objects as well as things that you see once in a life time.
