Question about first name people search? Tips?
-
Anyone know of a site that allows first name people search that is free and unrestricted? I've tried like 10+ sites and 9+ of them require a last name and or last initial. I'm trying to track down my mom's friend. She has a very distinct Cambodian name (though I'm not sure of the spelling) and I remember that her last name will be of Caucausian origin (it was something like Johnson) as her husband is/was white. My mom is kind of old and doesn't remember her friend's last names (yikes, I know, lol). I was able to use google maps to find out her old address but she lived in a rented townhouse/apartment so there are no listings. I don't think it's legal for me to ask the manager what her full name was though that would basically end my search as these people finders would find it in a second with the whole name. Oh, also, I know that she moved away to AZ from CA ~10 years ago. Any type of people finding site that will let me search using these tidbits of info--or even a service I'm willing to pay for (within reason of course)... also note that a lot of those sites pay-help are usually people just mining the site as well and not super skilled--from what I hear. I'm talking legit stuff.

If you know where she lived in a specific year, you might find something on the electoral register for that year. I see nothing wrong in asking the manager for her full name and perhaps even a forwarding address. You could google her first name with the spelling you have, and see if alternative spellings come up. It would be very difficult to find someone with a first name only. See if you can find the surname - it will make your search so much easier. http://www.caraweb.org/contact.html is a Cambodian American site, might be able to help if you have the full name. It seems that most Cambodians who came to US live in California. If you find a surname, google the name + California - you might find something there. Good luck !!!

I don't know of any sites that will search by first name only. Have you tried looking at your mom's address book or Christmas card list for the name? Does she have a photo album with the names written on the back? How about asking other mutual friends? Does your mom remember the husband's first name? Actually after 10 years, the apartment manager probably doesn't even have records. If that doesn't work, try some old fashioned Google search tips. I am going to use a fake name to show you what might work. Ten years is a long time so this may not work but is worth a try Arebella "123 Main street #456 anytown california" Arebella AND Ralph "123 Main street #456 anytown california" Arebella AND Ralph Arizona
