Has anyone been to the castle of Amboise in France.How was it?

Does anyone know anything about a cairncross family castle in scotland?

  • ok well a few years ago a family member of mine got a letter from this castle keeper say that he was inviting us to come stay at the castle because it was occupied by our ancesters and now it's not but i cant find any information on it, or anything so does anyone know something?

    I think the first thing that should be asked is the letter saying that the persons' that owned this castle had the same last name as Cairncross? I have found the only pl;ace that I can tell was owned by a Carincross was a place called Hillslap Tower (lies in the parish of Melrose) and/or Calfhill and/or Maxpopill (i don't know what this is).
