Why do I have two different colored eyes?

    Bodies are not always the same on both sides (asymmetrical) and that includes eyes. Eye color is not controlled by one gene. I used to work with a boss that had one brown eye and one blue eye. He wore clear contacts cuz he was so proud. It was kind of distracting, though. White cats sometimes have different color eyes, with blue and orange being the main colors. If the cat has a blue eye, he is often deaf in that ear. The side with the orange eye is not deaf. The stem cell that controls pigment is the same that grows into part of the inner ear. This isn't all white cats, just those that have a dominant white gene. Humans can have also have a syndrome where there is albinism, partial deafness and different color eyes.

It is a condition called heterochromia. It is when the there is less pigment in one eye than the other. It is a genetic mutation and it can be hereditary. Sometimes people have different colors in one eye like blue and brown (half and half). In my opinion, it is very pretty and is extremely unique because it doesn't happen to many people. One of my friends has heterchromia. Its not a disease or anything so don't get worried. I think its really cool.
