This is very simple. As a daughter you have a right to gain the birth certificate of your parents. Find out where to obtain birth certificates in Louisiana (some places it is the county and other's the state) then how much it will cost. fill in the necessary form and send to the correct place, and they will send you a copy. You may have to swear under oath you are the blood daughter or son of the people involved. google Louisiana State Birth Records. on those certificates you will find the name of their parents. it is as simple as that.

Yahoo prohibits posting personal info regarding living persons, and so do most reputable genealogy sites. Once you get to persons born prior to 1930, they can normally be located in census records. For persons still alive, they have the right of keeping information private. If your parents do not have contact with them.. then we have to respect that. It would be completely wrong to give you information behind their back (if not illegal).

I am afraid you are not going to get this info on the internet unless they are deceased or were born before 1930. The only option you have is to phone them. http://find.person.superpages.com EDIT - Your grandparent's marriage record would show their parents names, but unless they were married at least 50 years ago, the records can't be released to the public until then. If your Mom knows of one of her aunts or an uncle who was older than your grandmother and possibly got married (or died) before 1957, then you could look into getting their marriage or death record to find your great grandparent's names. Louisiana State Archives Research Library website states: Researchers may obtain any of the following vital records by visiting the Library or may request the records by mail. Birth records for 1819-1907 (births over 100 years ago) Marriage records for 1870-1957 (marriages over 50 years ago) Orleans Parish death records for 1819-1957 (deaths over 50 years ago) The Archives charges $5.00 for a certified copy

I put a link in your last query for the sutton family message board. All you need to do is when you go there post a new message and maybe another family member will see it and be able to put you onto the correct path to untangling your family tree. http://genforum.genealogy.com/sutton/

Just go on Ancestory or something. Look up "how to find ancestors" or SOMETHING on Google.
