Why do some people think that if your white , your still mixed?

It means exactly what you said about your mixed ancestry. You have a mixed background as do most people. It's not just relevant to the color of your skin, that's like saying all brown people or black people have the same background because of their skin color. Take some social science, anthropology classes...

I totally disagree, Salma. It does matter. And it has nothing to do with being racist. It is incorrect in the extreme. Mixed means racially mixed. It does not mean ethnically. Let's get our words straight.

Caucasian includes ALL Europeans, people who originated in North Africa, people of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It has absolute nothing to do with pigmentation but craniology(skull shapes). If anybody was actually white they would look like Casper the ghost. However, there is a limit to how far back any of us can go. At one time all of our ancestors were nomads. The human race began in East Africa. Our differences are due to mutations. Certain types of people were unable to survive in certain part of the world. Example. The sun is very rich in Vitamin D. It has been found that the minimum amount of Vitamin D a black African native requires is the maximum amount of Vitamin D someone of northern European background should have. Today it doesn't make much difference as we have vitamin supplements. As far as Hispanic what most Americans see as Hispanics are the people who come from the countries south of us. Those people might speak Spanish and have Spanish names but their ancestry is primary the natives living there before the Conquistadors arrived. Castillian Spanish for instance are frequently blue eyed blondes.

Does it actually matter? What's the difference anyway? You're still a person, right? You agree that being mixed doesn't make you deformed, deficient or dangerous, don't you? So who cares?

As I have said before I look Aryan but have American Indian and Jewish Ancestry, along with Scot-German. All I care is for them to call me when dinner is ready, the rest is their problem.

They are really just saying that because they think they know what they are talking about. I am black but people don't think that because i'm so light. My dad is french and black and my mom is european/ black. I am still black though. You see you could have different races in you but if your white your white, black is black see. Just don't listen to other people. You are who you are and you know well. Thats the best reason i could come across.

you are white what THOSE people are trying to do is get under your skin. don't let any one get to you for who you are. no matter what color you are. be it white, black, brown, red, yellow or green for that matter. we should all be proud of who we are and no matter what our ancestry is.
