How much native american blood do you have?

I am trying to find out how much native american blood i have. how can i do this.?

  • Answer:

Open up your wallet and look at your CDIB (certificate of degree of Indian blood) card. It will say right there on it. If you don't have a CDIB, then ask your native american relatives why not. (all native americans get them, usually when they're born) If you don't have any native american relatives who DO have a CDIB, then you aren't native american.

Other answers

1. Use normal research, to identify your ancestors by name. 2. Identify if any of them ACTUALLY have any documents proving them to be Native American. And I very much respect other posters and experience..I know there are some Native Americans who chose to not enroll in tribes. I do accept alternate documentation,ie the 1850 census which shows a person listed as Indian. She and her sister moved away from family, and married non Native persons. Neither of them ever enrolled, and they would not qualify by todays' requirements, that include the Dawes rolls among other records. ALMOST ALL family stories about Native ancestry, are not factual, or are unprovable.

Work back on a family tree and investigate relatives and their relatives. Start with your father, mother and grandparents.
