  • My son will be 1 soon and i need some ideas of games to play at his party. There will be kids aged from 5months through to 8 years old, and also we have a pool so some pool game ideas would be great too!! Also what sort of prizes considering the very different ages? 26 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer.

I like the idea of doing an old fashioned art and crafts party with lots of washable paints, playdoh, construction paper etc... It really suits older kids and babies. For activities, take some painters drop cloths and spread them out over a flat ground surface. On top of that, place large strips butchers paper for the babies and individual canvasses for the older kids. Create work stations of paint buckets filled with washable paints, magic markers, colored pencils and crayons, along with brushes, stamps and sponges. Let the kids go to town creating their own works of art. Parents can help the babies finger paint. Place large buckets of soapy water, along with towels, so the kids can clean up after they finish their masterpieces. Another activity would be to have each child decorate their own smock or apron that they wear during the party to protect their clothes. You can get white smocks and aprons online or from your local craft store. Buy a bunch of fabric paint, rhinestones, beads, feathers, and fabric glue and have the older kids design and decorate their smocks/aprons. For the babies, let the parents decorate large white tee-shirts that are large enough to cover the babies' clothes so they don't mess up their cute outfits when painting on the tarp later. For the table setting, I would go for a long table (or tables linked together if necessary): Materials Painters drop cloth Latex paint Paint brush 12-15 new, empty paint cans (gallon and pint size) Construction paper 1 4x8 piece of 1/4 inch foam core Box cutter (to cut foam core) Spray paint Candy in the same colors as paint Instructions For the tablecloth, use a painter's drop cloth and splatter with paint in as many colors as you like and use this to cover your table. To create a lower table for little kids use crates and plywood to create your own. To create the runner, cut 1/4 foam core into abstract shapes (amoeba type shapes) and paint one solid color. Wrap your new, empty paint cans in the same color construction paper and use the coordinating paint cans. Finally, add candy that matches the same color "spill out" for a festive and edible centerpiece that's fun for everyone. As a final fun touch, use dot candy on paper to create napkin rings. To add even more color create a centerpiece out of large round lollipops. Take one of your empty paint cans, and fill it with sugar that you've colored brightly with dye. Take the lollipops and affix to each one a cute label that has the name of each child on it. Bunch the lollipops together and place them in the colored sand, creating something that resembles a potted flower. At the end of the party, you can distribute the lollipops to each child as a party favor. If you have some extra money, you might consider hiring a student from a local art school to draw some caricatures of each child. After cake, you could play the Crayon Drop game. Decorate two large cans, cut a slit in the lid and have the kids try to drop the crayon in the hole. At the end of the party, hang the artwork on a clothes wire or set the canvasses on a table. Have each child describe what they created and then have an award presentation for their marvelous artwork. Give everyone a paint can (can be found at Home Depot) filled with markers, pencil topper kits, and paint brush candy. Hope this helps! Have a wonderful party!

for the kids play games like spin the tale on the donkey and whoever wins gets a small prize. get the prizes at a local family dollar or 99 cent store and get the little plastic toys. you could probably have a pool party unless the pool is too deep for the kids. let the 6, 7,and 8 year olds watch a movie with some popcorn or have them play some board games and video games. then at the end pass out goddie bags with candy and a little game inside it

Wow a party for a 1 year old. I'd say it's really a party for the grown ups and kids together. Make sure you entertain them all. If you have kid games make sure they are safe for all ages. Really kids don't remember much until after 5. But the pictures are always cool to look back on. One game everyone who can stand can play is paddle ball mouse trap. Make sure the little ones are carefully watched. Stick the paddle ball in the back of your pants and stand over a loaded mouse trap. Try to make the ball snap the trap. It's so funny with the adults. It's always a hit at my parties.

The kids in my family range in age from 1-12. We always have the problem with games too. One game that our kids like is musical chairs. As far as the prizes, it's better to just have treat bags to pass out to all the kids at the end of the party. Just congratulate them on winning the game.

you could play hide-and-seek with the parents helping, and have tops as prizes, or rubber squeaky duckies
