Some ideas for an 80's theme 18th Birthday party for girl?

  • Throwing a party for 18th birthday with an 80's theme. It will be at a hall and i'm just looking for some ideas for decorations and food too. Thanks for all answers.

    I absolutely love this theme! You could do so much! If you have the guests dress up in their best 80s attire, it will make the party THAT much more fun. You could make her a Rubik's cube cake as a tribute to the puzzle trend that took off in that generation. You could decorate using neon colored streamers, dark lighting, a black light, strobe lights, and/or a BUNCH of glitter! The 80s were the decade for your typical teenage party-goer, so any light snacks such as nachos and chips or anything casual would do. A bunch of patterns such as zebra print and cheetah layered on top of one another would look good for decoration. If you need any more help, take a look at an old photo shoot of Madonna, or a couple of her album covers. I hope I helped, and Happy Birthday!!

Too bad you can't find posters like The Stray Cats, Culture Club, and Billy Idol, Duran Duran, etc. at the store any more. Obviously you have a playlist selected. You should rent 16 candles and play it on a big screen TV or projector. Or Weird Science. Or something else 80's. You need to have favors, so why not do some games and give away like cheap fake Ray Bans, some flexible rubber bracelets and suspenders/legwarmers.
