I need some pool party ideas.

13 YEAR OLD POOL PARTY! I need ideas...?

  • Hi :) I am having a pool party soon. I will be renting out my local pool and there will be 60-70 13 year olds (boys adng girls). I need... ACTIVITIES-UNIGUE games the THIRTEEN year olds will want to play...ir things I can have to entertain them DRINKS-I would like recipies for drinks that involve soda..Im gona to put sugar around the rims of the glasses to make it look like margiritas... and... i am going to be passing out "Shutter Shades" with the invitations...but I dont know eher I can get them for cheap. Party stores and Ebay dont have them.... (remember, 60-70 PEOPLE!)

    I went to a pool party one time where they put tanning oil on a watermelon and the kids had to jump in the deep end and try to get it out. They called it the greased pig game. It would be neat to use maybe several small ones. Then they cut eat & had a watermelon eating contest. I like the punch recipe that elmer gave. I don't know abou the shades but sometimes at walmart in the birthday section with the cards & bags that they have shades as party favors.

I have been throwing pool parties for my son for the past 4 years. And, to be perfectly honest, it is going to be difficult to get the kids to play any kind of organized games. I always buy a bunch of glowsticks and throw them into the pool. (sticks, bracelets, necklaces...they all are great as long as they glow) They get to take them all home when they leave. I also bring balls. The boys all love to throw balls in the pool. (especially football) Most of the time, a few of the braver girls will join in. I usually order pizza and get chips and 2-liters because once you get the kids in the pool, it is difficult to lure them out. Here is a punch that I make for other parties: mix 2 cups of sugar, 2 packs of koolaid...(strawberry, fruit punch, or cherry) 1 can of pineapple juice and 1 2'liter of either ginger ale or 7 up. (I dont use Sprite because it is sweeter.) Then, I put scoops of sherbet on top. It really doesnt matter what flavor. Pool games: Sharks and minnows: start with 1 person in the middle, the rest are all on one side of the pool. They try to swim past the person in the middle. If they get tagged, they have to help the person in the middle. Keep playing until there is only one person left. Catergories: Set up is the same as above. Except, the person in the middle calls out a category. (color, cars, movies, etc...) the kids on the side all think of something in that cat. then, the person in teh middle calls out different things in that cat. When your object is called, you swim to the other side. If you get caught, you are it. Hope this helps... ~Mary
