I need some ideas for an evergreen theme for preschool.

I need Ideas for a theme dinner! Any Ideas?

  • Ok so I have some friends coming over from California and I want to wow them with my cooking and party-throwing skills. So I need some Ideas for a theme party. Not Just what kind of theme to have but I need some ideas on what kind of food to make and some events we can have. Last year when they came over we had a Hollywood theme. We all dressed in movie themed clothing and had French food and appetizers. I want to try to top that if possible.

    Hmmm.... Egyptian theme - and the food is FANTASTIC. It is also fairly cheap to hire a local belly dancer for an hour long performance - try local dance studios. Have everyone lounge on pillows on the floor, eat yummy Egyptian food, and enjoy the performance. Then end the meal with a hookah, and flavored tobacco. (that's optional, but it's very much a part of the mood) You can print menus, and use hyroglyphics to decorate the menu. Matter of fact, you could even find some handmade paper from a local artisen and either hire someone or hand-write menus yourself. You can make headdresses. If you have a couple of friends that owe you a favor, ask them to dress up, and 'fan' your guests, bring food, pour wine, etc. Since Cali has got a GREAT selection of fruits and veggies, at cheap prices, you can serve grapes, marinate olives (the real ones, not the crappy canned ones), whatever. Why not use the United Kingdom as they are visitors. Serve traditional dishes from England, Scotland, Ireland & Wales. Your guests have to guess where the food is from. You could also do this on an international basis. Dress wise you pick a country then try and represent it through your costume the other have to guess. Have a good time.

Hmmmm well there's so many ideas. I'd recommend having an evening devoted entirely to one type of cuisine, with matching wines from the same place. Italy, South Africa, Japan, Switzerland, New Zealand, India...even California itself would be interesting.

You should have a China theme with egg rolls and chinese foods.You can all dress up in chinese robes with little fancy fans.(Cinese theme)

Could do a gangster theme, dress like gangsters or molls, serve Italian food (especially spaghets & meatballs) and keep the Chianti flowing.

Have an all-American bbq for Memorial Day.You can cook up some hamburgers,hot dogs,and some french fries,chips,ect..You can also decorate everything red,white and blue.At night set off some fireworks.
