What are some ideas for a back to school party?

What are some finger food ideas for a school party???

  • My school is having a literary magazine party called the "coffeehouse" and I was wondering if anybody knows of any CHEAP finger food ideas other than little sausages or sandwiches. We are going for a slightly elegant, but not cheap look.

  • Answer:

This is my fav snack to make. and it looks elegant and its not messy Cucumber Finger Sandwiches Things You’ll Need: Cucumber Slices (for Garnish) Parsleys Sprigs (for Garnish) 1 lb. wheat bread A few tablespoons mayonnaise 1 small onions - grated 12 oz. softened cream cheeses 2 medium cucumbers - peeled, seeded, and grated Step1Combine the cucumbers and cream cheese, then blend in the onion. Step2Add in a tablespoon or two of mayonnaise and blend until the mixture is soft and spreadable. Add a little more mayonnaise to soften further. Step3Cut the crusts off the bread, then either cut each piece into fourths or cut into diamonds. Step4Spread mixture over half the bread pieces, then top with another piece of bread. Step5Garnish with parsley or cucumber.

You could get some miniature quiches from Trader Joe's or Safeway. A fresh vegetable platter is always nice too. You can also get pita chips or cut mini pita pockets in half and have some different types of hummus to dip them in and maybe get some different types of olives. There are a ton of things you could do. Most of what I mentioned should be easy to find at a regular grocery store though Trader Joe's is much cheaper for it and has many more options (tons of good cheeses and things) but if you don't have one just check your local store.

Spread softened cream cheese in glass pie plate and up sides. Spread beanless chili over cheese, add diced onions, peppers, olives (if you have them), and cover with shredded cheese. Stick toothpicks into dip and cover with plastic wrap, microwave at school. Take some chips or crackers, or veggie sticks for dip.

my all time fav hors d'oeuvre my mom makes is cubed cheese,pickles/olives and kielbasa or polish sausage. you put a piece of cheese,a piece of pickle/olive and a piece of sausage on a toothpick easy to eat and always disappears FAST
