Why must we wait 4 hours before we can choose BEST ANSWER?

Wouldn't it be easier to pick a best answer to your question if they didn't make you wait 4 hours?

  • I understand the idea behind the 4 hour time limit, but in reality you rarely get more answers after the first hour. I think more people would choose a best answer rather than let it go to vote if they didn't have the 4 hour restriction.

    yes! like today i had a question about what i was going to cook for breakfast. well, really i needed the answer in 10 mins, so i already knew my best answer.
