Bonfire in backyard for Party?

I'm turning 16 in late January and you only life once so i wanna have a big party. I was thinking a bonfire in my backyard. I live in Texas and i don't know if it's LEGAL to make a bonfire in my backyard. Especially since i live right by an elementary school and resturaunts. Also we are RENTING our house, so do you think the landlord will be okay with making a bonfire in the backyard and is it LEGAL?

Most states require a fire permit to have any type of fire. You must notify the town and fire department that you will be having a large fire and may need to hire firefighters if you plan on having a fire larger than a certain size. I would go to your town hall or police department and ask for more information.

I highly doubt it's legal to do that in your backyard. Call the local police station and ask. Fires in backyards need to be contained.
