What are some things you could do at a bonfire party?

How to make my birthday party bonfire amazing?!?

  • Hey, okay, so I'm turning 15 this year and want some great ideas for a birthday party bonfire. I'm basically inviting everyone in my grade to it, and it's gonna be this huge thing in my backyard, with a MONSTROUS fire. I've already got music (working on an awesome playlist), s'mores, hot dogs, fireworks, and maybe some of these, if it's possible: 1. Hayride 2. Fireworks 3. Glow Sticks (Play Hide and Seek with glowsticks) 4. Smores 5. Hot dogs 6. Music 7. Flash Light Tag 8. Scavenger Hunt!! (Find items in the woods or something, then create a human out of it!) 9. Just scavenger hunt for prizes 10. Tons of contests/prizes (best hat, best outfit, craziest hair, scavenger hunt winners, other things like the chocolate bar thing but with different types of candy or something) 11. Guess the number of candy in a candy jar (winner takes all) 12. Colorful fire 13. Trampoline (of course) 14. Lots of good food (puppy chow, homemade!) 15. The limbo Other than that, please give me some ideas. I don't want another incident like my friend had with her bonfire, where she just had a short hayfride that was enjoyed, but then after that everyone just sat there around the fire for a few hours and it was boring. Keep in mind this is a six hour party!! 6-12 midnight. Thank you so much!

  • Answer:

You could bring a frisbee, or football for some night games (those are especially popular among guys) while the girls who don't want to play can do what most girls do best; talk to other girls. For the colorful fire, make sure to bring TONS of colorant laced flammables (pinecones, logs, sticks for color torches, sawdust, etc,.) To make the colorful fire, you can soak the items to burn in a solution of colorant and water/alcohol (alcohol is better, being that it evaporates quickly and does not hinder the effects of your fire) Here's a list of colorants you can use. Most can be found in a grocery or dry goods store, in the laundry or cleaner section. Look for copper sulfate in swimming pool supplies (already in water, which is fine). Potassium chloride is used as a salt substitute and may be found in the spice section. Epsom salts, borax, and calcium chloride may be found with laundry/cleaning supplies. Others, including strontium chloride, can be obtained from stores that specialize in rocketry or firework supplies. Flame Colorants Color Chemical Carmine Lithium Chloride Red Strontium Chloride Orange Calcium Chloride (a bleaching powder) Yellow Sodium Chloride (table salt) or Sodium Carbonate Yellowish Green Borax Green Copper Sulfate Blue Copper Chloride Violet 3 parts Potassium Sulfate 1 part Potassium Nitrate (saltpeter) Purple Potassium Chloride White Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom salts)
