Ideas for a 20th birthday party?

• A little information that might help: - relatively priced - I live in PA (right on the Mason Dixon line which is the line dividing Pennsylvania and Maryland) - My birthday is October 1st - I am Married - I have my own house ...(if you need anymore info ask away) Some ideas I thought of: -a decade themed murder mystery party - a costume contest - just a normal halloween party If you use the ideas I came up with, can you give some advice on how you would throw that type of party? It's nice to have some input that way I can mix things up and be creative; I don't want something that's been done a million times. I can use an idea but make it my own, you know?   If you want a mystery party, how about not just a decade but also a Hollywood themed murder mystery? Those seem to be more fun in my opinion than something like Clue murder mysteries. Mardi Gras or Carnival themes are fun. Have lots of beads! Hurricane punch and cajun appetizers. Casino Theme - set up blackjack and poker tables for example. There are companies that can come to your home with the equipment and supply the dealers as well. A Halloween party would be fun but then you kind of lose the birthday celebration, and people may not be ready to share their costume or even have their costume yet if you hold it right around your birthday. With a Hollywood murder theme or a Mardi Gras theme you still have people dressing up and can do a best dressed contest.
